She finally did it!

Our girl Candy finally came through! She started having her kittens on Wednesday afternoon and by 6pm had stopped. I was sure we had more left but her labor ended. OK, she did this before - Galahad was born 4 or 5 hours after the rest of his litter. So, I checked on her throughout the night but nothing. By Thursday I was worried. We went to our vet and he checked Candy over (no temperature, no infection, no distress and her normally friendly, sweet self) and checked on the babies. We found there was just 1 kitten in there waiting to come out but he was alive and well just not yet in position. Our vet recommended waiting because c sections are hard on both mom and babies. If she didn't have the kittens by the same time Friday we would have her in for surgery. So....no babies by late Thursday, no babies at 1 am...I finally fell asleep and woke up around 5 am. I went to check on our girl and sure enough! There was a new little kittens - a pretty silver classic! Way to go Candy!! It took a while but she got it done!
