Happy Birthday Elphie!

One year ago on the 27th, our beautiful blue girl Juliet gave birth to a single kitten. I kept waiting for more to come but it was just this one beautiful little kitten. She dried off and I could see such a pretty little head and warm brown color. I was hoping for a girl and viola! a girl she was! The days passed and our chubby baby began growing into a gorgeous girl.

I named her Prekrasne Defying Gravity because the weekend before, I was at the musical Wicked and that was one of my favorite songs. She is called Elphie after the character of Elpheba who sang the song. She is daughter to TICA RW SGC and CFA GP Amurin Juuda and reminds me so much of her father, right down to the head butts:)

I am pleased to announce that Prekrasne will be welcoming a new youngster into our group! In a turn of events, we will be having a handsome young male join us at the end of January.

Rafinad Manchzhury is the son of the gorgeous golden female, Angelur Bazilika and the big brown tabby and white boy Zheniy Zevidniy Manchzhury - son of foundation female, Vasalisa and Pereslav Sladkoye Pyantyshko.

The result is the beautiful boy with the warm brown mackerel and white coat and beautiful type. We look forward to what he brings to us here!

Our youngest princess here at Prekrasne is Manchzhury Pavlina. Pavlina came to us at the very end of September all the way from Voronezh, Russia. We are so glad to have her as part of Prekrasne. Her mother is a beautiful solid black Siberian from old lines while her father Gektor, is the son of 2 foundation parents. This gives us the opportunity to work with these new lines. Thank you to Natalya for our sweet girl.

Great news on the health front! Both Molly (Prekrasne Malyshka Medved) and Dolce (Mystic Melody La Dolce Vita) screened negative for HCM and have normal, healthy hearts.

This Spring we will be testing Elphie and Esmeralda for the first time (they turn 1 yr old), testing Juliet, and re-screening Domino for his annual update.

In a turn of events, our girl Georgia has gone home with a local family and our sweet girl Emily is available. Emily was just spayed and will be ready to go home the week of December 12th. She is a bit reserved but very affectionate and sweet. She just likes to get to know people before she loves on them. Once she does she has a loud purr and follows you around like a puppy. (sorry for the poor quality pictures - using my cell phone while the computer is not working).

Updated: Emily is now reserved for Judy and her family in Arizona!

Sorry for our absence on our blog. I have been internet-less at home for 2 weeks now as I find a new modem cord, order it and wait for it to be delivered. What a pain.

For kittens - we do not have any available kittens at this time. Our next litters are planned for about 3-5 months from now. I do have 1 available young adult - a 10 month old female named Georgia.

Show News - We just returned from Tucson and showing the crew. What a great show for Prekrasne! Juuda brought home 6 finals including a Best Allbreed Alter! Our newbie - Gauvain d'Arioska earned 5 finals including a Best Allbreed Kitten (out of 52), our home bred boy Prekrasne Leading Man (aka J.J.) brought home 8 finals including a Best Allbreed Kitten (out of 54) and our 8 month old female Jokieva Esmeralda earned a whopping 8 finals in her first adult show and is now a Triple Grand Champion!!

This pretty girl is Twizzle! She looks so serious with her large, somber eyes but she is really a active, silly and playful young lady. She was purring like crazy the whole time I was taking her pictures.

Starbuck is one of the "big" girls n the litter and is super active and high energy. She and Ella are always wrestling and tumbling around.

Our gorgeous young female, Party Girl, is available to a loving pet home. We do not ship our retired adults - courier may be available and of course folks in driving distance are preferred. A visit to Phoenix in the late fall/winter isn't too bad either. Party Girl had just one litter for us here and will be spayed shortly. She is just 15 months old and a beautiful honey brown tabby with beautiful, sparkly eyes. She is good with other cats and cat friendly dogs.

I have returned from my adventure in Switzerland! I travelled to Geneva and on to Villars and enjoyed the hospitality of Barbara and her family from Arioska cattery. Villars is gorgeous and it snowed! I was so thrilled - living in Phoenix, I do not have a chance to see snow unless I go elsewhere. I am from the midwest and grew up with snow and I was happy to find the snowy Alps awaiting.

Gauvain and I made our way back to Phoenix in coach class, but Gauvain did figure out how to get out of his carrier and headed straight for First Class. He's a smart boy, alright!

Litter Plans - Spring 2012

2012 should bring some exciting new changes for Prekrasne. I will be welcoming a new girl and our boys will be a bit different. However, until then the ever reliable Domino will be our main man! Mr Consistent, he lends his handsome head type and snuggly temperament to his babies. We also love seeing his awesome black Siberian babies - they really have a regal quality that is all their own.

Our plans are subject to change of course since Mother Nature has a way of really showing us who's boss. We will also be health screening our newbies and updating screenings on our adults before breeding.

Domino and Dolce are planned for late March/early April - we expect all brown tabbies unless Dolce surprises us and carries sold from her mom.

Molly and Domino have an encore performance planned for late April/early May. This stellar pairing gives us babies with great size, type, and temperaments. We expect a mix or brown tabbies and solid blacks.

Domino and Georgia for Georgia's first litter. This super active young lady should be a great pair for Domino. Not sure what we'll get for colors other than brown tabbies, but blues and solids could be in there.

J.J. is now available. I have been hanging on to him to evaluate as a potential show/breeding prospect but I have decided to make him available as a pet.

He is a big boy for his age and hefty in boning - he is 11 weeks old and 4.5 lbs. I do prefer that he joins a family with another young, active cat or kitten because he is a very active and rambunctious boy. He is likely to get bored and naughty as an only cat. He would be great to consider if you are thinking of getting 2 Siberian kittens. He is very outgoing, friendly, active and energetic. He gets along with other cats (who like to wrestle and play) and cat friendly dogs, too.

He can be ready to go any time - he just needs to be neutered and microchipped.

It took over 2 weeks but I finally gave the D litter their theme and names. They are named after singers/groups starting with D. Dido, Dolly (Parton), and Derek (and the Dominos - seemed very fitting given who his daddy, is).

Party Girl and Domino's litter is now 2 weeks old. Still a couple weeks to go before they are available to reserve but boy are they cute. Above is our little boy in the litter. He is already showing a fun and friendly personality.

This is our smaller of the 2 girls and she is a sweet and lovable little girl. She is a tad darker than her sister.

This is our bigger girl and she is spunky and active. She is a little lighter in color than her sister.

Remus Lupin is one of our 2 solid blacks and he is a beautiful boy with a super sweet personality. Nothing quite like a solid black Siberian - they have their own special, regal quality.
Just ask his daddy, Domino.

This boy is Rubius Hagrid and he is one hefty boy for his age! Molly and Domino's boys tend to be on the bigger side and this is holding true with this boy. Hagrid is very outgoing and friendly and is one of the first to venture out to get into mischief!

Party Girl's litter is now 9 days old! What adorable babies. When they are older we will make 1 female and the male available. Pictured above is the little boy in the litter. What a doll.

When the time comes, this young lady will be available. She is still developing for now but in a few weeks we will make her available to reserve.

This sweet baby girl is under observation. We will be retiring her mom after this one litter and we are going to see if we want to keep one from the litter.

Spring 2012 - Mystic Melody Sweet Georgia Brown x CH Vestavind Domino

I am just starting to think about our plans for our 2012 litters. As always, I consider the potential for quality in type, health and temperament and also diversity. This pairing should give us all of it. Mystic Melody Sweet Georgia Brown is from lines ranging from St Petersberg and Moscow to Tomsk Siberia and Domino has Moscow, Krasnoyarsk, and Temujin (Rembo).

I am looking for solid boning, strong head type, and good coat quality. Both Domino and Georgia have exceptional temperaments which we look for in their kittens as well. The kittens will most likely be brown tabbies. I am considering testing Georgia to see if she carries dilute or solid since I know her mother could carry both.

Of the 7 kittens born, we now have 2 available. These 2 are all boys.

This is one of our solid black male kittens showing that regal presence that solid black Siberians seem to have in excess! He is a bit more rambunctious than his brother Sirius.

Finally, our Hagrid. This hefty guy is quite a character! He is always the one to tag along after me and he and his buddy Snape are always the 2 heading off to get into mischief! He is a brown tabby - probably mackerel but possibly spotted.

Prekrasne Blackberry

Just received this great picture of Prekrasne Blackberry who is now with our friends at Mystic Melody in Atlanta. This boy is full brother to our Harry Potter litter (Sirius Black and Remus Lupin will look similar as they grow up). He is starting to look a lot like his daddy, Domino.

We are happy to see him growing up and developing so nicely. He has had a good start to his show career too bringing home a Best Kitten at barely 4 months old.

Our litter between Molly and Domino is the "Harry Potter" litter and they are now 3 weeks old! All of our kittens pictured here are available as pets. We have 2 other boys, but they are under evaluation for show potential. Sirius, pictured above, is our bigger of the 2 solid black boys and he's nowhere near as serious as he looks - he has his father's "wild" type expression and should be a very regal looking boy if he takes after dad as a grown up.

Severus is now reserved! This little monkey is Severus Snape and unlike his namesake, he is our smallest and sweetest fellow! He's also all about the camera - I took 8 pictures of him while he posed all cute.

Sybil is now reserved! Our only girl is Sybil Trelawney and she is a beautiful girl who reminds me a lot of her mom at this age.

Hagrid, our little funny boy. This boy is always trying to follow me out of the kitten room and gets himself into the silliest messes by getting out of the nest. Quite an adventurer for just 3 weeks old.

And finally, Remus Lupin...our smaller of the 2 black kittens and he's a love. Solid black Siberian have such a wonderful look to them even if it is hard to capture it on camera as well as we'd like.

Our Newest Litter

Our latest litter between Molly and Domino is now 9 days old! They are officially our "Harry Potter" litter. They were born the day after the opening of the final movie in the series and being a fan....well, it fit:) The babies were born 7/15 and we will be making all of the males available to our waiting list in the coming weeks once they are a bit older.

This solid black young man is the bigger of the 2 solid blacks. So, of course we had to name him (you guessed it) Sirius Black.

What a cutie this guy is! He's also very sweet. He is Cedric Diggery.

Our only girl, this is Molly Weasley. We love Molly Weasley and she showed her true strength at the end of the series. Of course her mother's name is Molly (short for Malyshka) so we'll think of another 'home" name for her should she stay on at Prekrasne.

Everybody's favorite bad/good guy, Severus Snape! and who can resist this face?

One of my favorite characters from the series, Remus Lupin. He is the smaller of our 2 black males.

Our biggest kitten is named after the 1/2 giant keeper of magical creatures, the ever loyal Rubius Hagrid.

Finally, the charming if smarmy Gilderoy Lockhart. Love the movie for Kenneth Branagh's take on this vain fellow. We're sure OUR Gilderoy won't be vain and shallow - he'll be sweet and lovable.

Welcome C Litter!

July 15th we welcomed our C litter - our newest C litter comes a little more than 4 years after our first C litter! Hard to believe we've come full circle.

This unplanned but happy arrival is between Molly and Domino. We welcomed 7 babies to the world. At least for now we have 6 boys and 1 girl. Molly wasn't too keen on my checking over the babies for too long so it may be a bit different once I can get a better look. We do have 2 solid black - both appear to be males - and 5 brown mackerel tabbies.

Our Blue litter from Juliet and Domino just turned 9 weeks. Boy are they gorgeous! Pictured above is Blue on Black and Moody Blue. Blue on Black will be joining Colleen in Illinois in August! Moody Blue and his brother Palmera (I couldn't get his picture) will go to California.

This handsome fella is Cameron and he's going to Tucson to join big brother Devin and big sister, Kiera - oh yeah, and Art and Sherry, too.

Our little Blue Bayou is joining Connie in Edmonton and will be living with Caper from Dita's first litter.

Plum is one pretty girl and she knows it! She'll be joining Josselin in Colorado and her grandpa, Po!

Juliet "Blue" Litter is 5 weeks

Our beautiful "Blue" litter is now 5 weeks old and such a great, happy bunch of kittens. Pictured above is Blue Orchid. She will be going to Colorado and joining Josselin and her grandpa, Po when she gets bigger!

This peanut is Blue on Black and she is a petite little girly girl. Such a beautiful face on her and she's the only brown tabby girl in the bunch.

This handsome guy is Blue Monday. He's the biggest of the group and quite a rambunctious fella. Look out cause he's trouble!

Can you believe this is our little man? Black and Blue is now a sturdy little guy with a mischievous nature, adorable face, and gorgeous warm brown coat. He'll be going to California when he gets bigger and will be headed there along with brother Moody Blue pictured below.

Finally, this young lady is a keeper! Prekrasne Blue Bayou will be staying on to carry on our beautiful blues. Her mom, Juliet, is retiring and we are so glad we have her gorgeous blue daughter to continue that legacy (along with Elphie).

Get those cameras out and start taking pictures of your pedigreed Siberian Cat! Your Siberian Cat does not need to be from Prekrasne, he or she just needs to be a pedigreed Siberian. I love all cats, but this is Siberian only!

Juliet's babies are already 4 weeks old! Such an adorable bunch and with our first blues in almost 3 years. In honor of so many blues, I selected names that are song titles with "blue" in them.

This young fella was our teeny man at birth who gave us a big scare. He's doing great and growing nicely now. He is called Prekrasne Black and Blue.

This adorable girl has such a lovely head type for her age. She is Prekrasne Blue on Black.
